District's 18th Middle School named
The NISD School Board named Northside's newest middle school for Dolph Briscoe in honor of a man who, since serving as governor of Texas, has donated millions of dollars to cultural and educational institutions in San Antonio and Austin. Briscoe served as a state representative from 1949 to 1957 and then as governor from 1973 to 1979.
